Still Feeling Lazy? Try These 5 Tricks to Make Your Mornings Healthier and Productive

Posted on 09 Jun 2025 (Monday.) 13:27 WIB

Waking up in the morning feels heavy? Lazy to move, immediately scroll Instagram, and end up rushing into activities? Don't worry, you're not alone.
The morning actually has a big impact on your mood and productivity throughout the day. If you want to have a healthier, more focused, and less chaotic day from the start, try these 5 simple tricks!

  1. Don't Scroll Your Phone Right After Waking Up

The temptation to check your phone right after waking up is real. But did you know? Your brain isn’t ready to process a lot of information right after you wake up. Scrolling social media immediately can actually shock and stress your brain from the start of the day.

Try waiting for 15-30 minutes before opening your phone.
Replace it with a deep breath, light stretching, or sit and think, “What do I want to do today?”

  2. Do Some Stretching Before Anything Else

You don’t need complex yoga poses or gym equipment. Just move your arms, neck, back, and legs. Benefits of morning stretching:

    • Improves blood circulation
    • Helps the body wake up gradually
    • Boosts your body’s natural energy

Just 5 minutes, but the effect can make you feel more energized throughout the day.

  3. Drink Water, Not Coffee Right Away

Sleeping for 6–8 hours causes your body to lose fluids. If you drink coffee immediately, you could get even more dehydrated and feel sluggish.

    The Solution?
Drink a glass of water (even better if it’s warm with lemon) before sipping your favorite coffee.

  4. Breakfast Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated, Just Healthy

Breakfast is crucial for stabilizing your energy and blood sugar levels. But you don't have to cook like a chef. Try these quick options:

    • Overnight oats
    • Whole wheat bread + eggs
    • Banana + peanut butter

The key: nutritious, not too sweet, and filling.

  5. Write Down 1 Thing You Want to Achieve Today

Instead of making a huge to-do list that causes stress, just write down 1 thing you want to accomplish today.
    Example:

    • “Today I want to finish that report completely.”
    • “Today I want to exercise for 20 minutes.”

Focusing on one small goal can make you feel more productive and satisfied without rushing.

Start Your Morning with the Best Version of Yourself

Morning is the foundation. If you start with good intentions and small healthy steps, your days will feel lighter and more directed. It doesn’t have to be drastic, just consistent.
