How to Keep Healthy During the Rainy Season

Posted on 23 Jan 2025 (Thursday.) 15:00 WIB

Maintaining health during the rainy season is important to prevent common illnesses such as flu, fever, or diseases caused by stagnant water. Here are some tips for maintaining health during the rainy season:

  1. Maintain Cleanliness
    • Wash your hands with soap before eating or touching your face, and after being outside.
    • Ensure the surrounding environment remains clean and free from stagnant water to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes that cause dengue fever.
  2. Consume Nutritious Foods
    • Eat more fruits and vegetables to boost your immune system.
    • Consume foods rich in vitamin C, such as oranges, kiwi, and papaya, to help prevent the flu.
  3. Drink Enough Water
    • Ensure your body stays hydrated by drinking enough water every day.
    • Avoid cold drinks if the weather is very cold to maintain your body temperature.
  4. Wear Appropriate Clothing
    • Wear warm and comfortable clothing to protect your body from the cold weather.
    • Use a raincoat or umbrella when going out to avoid getting wet from the rain.
  5. Get Sufficient Rest
    • Get enough sleep (7–8 hours per night) to keep your body fit.
    • Avoid staying up late, which can lower your immune system.
  6. Exercise Regularly
    • Continue physical activities, such as light indoor exercises, to maintain fitness.
  7. Avoid the Spread of Illness
    • Wear a mask if you are experiencing the flu to prevent spreading it to others.
    • Maintain distance from people who are sick to avoid infection.
  8. Take Supplements If Needed
    • If necessary, take vitamin or herbal supplements to boost your immune system, according to a doctor's recommendation.
  9. Be Aware of Rainy Season Illnesses
    • Avoid walking in puddles to prevent skin infections or diseases such as leptospirosis.
    • Clean your home regularly to prevent mold growth caused by humidity.
  10. Prepare Medicine and First Aid
    • Keep basic medicines, such as flu medicine, paracetamol, or digestive medicine, at home.

By following these steps, you can maintain your health and stay productive during the rainy season. 😊
